Elopement are usually mini weddings with a small number of guest. Couples mostly only ask for the coverage of the ceremony, family photos, and some formals. 2 hours is enough for most elopement coverage. For the 2 hours of coverage, the couple will get photos from their ceremony, family photos, wedding party photo and couple's portrait. I always like to arrive on location 30 minutes before the ceremony to scout the location and get ready. During the ceremony, I like to use my zoom lens so I don't have to stand too close to the couple to capture the critical moments such as the ring exchange. I always ask the couple to have a family photo list ready before the wedding so we can do family photos right after the ceremony before people start to wonder around. After the family photo, I will take the couple and the wedding party to my scouted locations or travel off site to do photos. Even though I know how to do great wedding party photos and couple's portraits, I encourage the couple to find their own inspirations such as build a Pinterest board. This way, I know what the couple likes and can make sure the favourite shots and moments are captured. I usually come home with 200 to 400 photos and I pick the best 100 to 200 to do editing. The finished photos will be delivered via online gallery where the couple can download, print and share the photos with friends and family.

99% of the couples say " we will have hundreds of photos of the two of us on hour wedding day, why do we want more photos before?" Lots of my pass clients also say " we never had professional photographers before and we are not good at taking photos." My response is always the same " first of all, you will loss nothing but 30 minutes of your time. Next, we can stop anytime during the shoot if you feel like. last but not least, you will have fun at the shoot and get bunch great photos. My process of shooting couple's portraits and engagement photos are always the same. The key is that I never pose and I only direct. I know though experience that posed photos never look good, but if you can get people to relax and have fun in-front of the camera, you can make anyone look great.
